Tracking 48.2K Shorts across 23 emerging niches

Spot breakout content before it goes viral.

Viraloop measures every short-form video against its own creator's baseline. What surfaces is what is breaking out — not simply what is already big.

No Supabase project is configured, so both buttons open the product against a generated demo corpus.

Product

Four questions, answered before the trend is obvious.

Each one has its own surface in the product, and all of them read from the same measured history.

What is breaking out right now

Every Short is scored against its own channel's median. A 40K-view video on a 2K-view channel outranks a 400K-view video on a channel that always does 400K.

Outliers

Which small creators are climbing

Subscriber and view history per channel, with upload cadence and outlier rate — so a channel accelerating from a small base is visible before it is obvious.

Channels

Which niches are gaining momentum

Momentum scored against competition, so you can tell a niche that is growing from one that is already saturated.

Niches

What patterns are repeatable

Hooks, formats, lengths and title shapes across the videos that broke out — each entry restating an observed measurement, never an inferred cause.

How it works

Snapshots in, one comparable number out.

  1. 01

    Snapshot

A scheduled Cloudflare Worker pulls Shorts through the YouTube Data API and stores a time-stamped snapshot of views, likes and comments — the raw material for velocity and acceleration.

  2. 02

    Baseline

Each channel's own median Shorts performance is recomputed from its history. That baseline, not a global average, is what every video is measured against.

  3. 03

    Surface

Six weighted inputs collapse into one 0–100 Viraloop Score, tapered by freshness. The radar ranks by it; the detail page shows which inputs produced it.

The Viraloop Score

One number, and you can see what is inside it.

A 0–100 composite describing how far a video is breaking out relative to what its own channel normally does. A freshness multiplier tapers to neutral after roughly three days — the same numbers reached in six hours mean more than in six.

The score is descriptive, not predictive. It summarises measured performance. It does not forecast future views.

FAQ

The questions worth asking first.

Does Viraloop predict how many views a video will get?
No. The score summarises measured performance — how far a video has broken out from its channel's baseline, and how fast. There is no forecasting model behind it, and no copy in the product claims one.
Where does the data come from?
The YouTube Data API v3, sampled on a schedule by a Cloudflare Worker. Snapshots accumulate over time, which is what makes velocity and acceleration measurable rather than guessed.
Why measure against a channel's own baseline?
Because absolute view counts mostly measure audience size that already existed. A video doing 20× its channel's median is a signal; a video doing 1.1× on a huge channel is not.
What happens after I sign in?
You pick the niches you care about during a short onboarding, then land on the dashboard with the radar, watchlists and saved items scoped to your account.
